Twenty nine year old Craig Carter sung his heart out for us as he competed on ITV’s The Voice and viewers up and down the country were certainly not impressed when Gavin Rossdale chose his final act to go through to the quarter-final as Truly Scrumptious instead of ‘Carter’.
Fans on twitter went crazy saying ‘Gavin what have you done’ and I believe we can all say that too as Carter was absolutely fabulous and deserved that quarter final place.
Without doubt Carter remains our truly class act, having performed his heart out and represented our community fantastically on this national platform – Carter we are all so totally proud of you.
Pictured here with vocal coach Sue Capes-Bunnett owner and director of Singing Sue’s Vocal Academy, Carter said ‘“It’s been an amazing learning experience to perform for audiences of that scale and I know I’ve still got more to offer.”
Sue said ‘It’s been fabulous working with Carter and he has been so supportive to our academy too, presenting awards and trophies for our young performers, inspiring them with their performances’.
In a recent competition Singing Sue’s Vocal Academy virtually cleared the floor with a trophy haul across numerous categories at Darlington Music Festival for Performing Arts.
Sue continued, ‘‘We have a lot of talented performers across all categories but I wasn’t expecting the outstanding results we achieved. These events are by their very nature competitive, so to come away with so many awards was truly amazing.’
‘SSVA Junior Choir secured 2nd place in two choir classes. In the singing pupils individual solo classes SSVA won over TWELVE trophies, numerous commendation, merits and distinctions – just outstanding’.
The day culminated with a champion class for students gaining over 87 marks, across Junior, Senior and Adult classes. The lucky students had to perform their best song again, SSVA won ALL three trophies available!
