Year 7 students from St Michael’s Catholic Academy are taking part in a massive clean-up at Cowpen Bewley Woodland Country Park on 27 March 2015.
With ever more pressure on local authority budgets, Cowpen Bewley Woodland Country Park is now being maintained by the ‘Friends of Cowpen Bewley’ – all volunteers, who need our help as a community to create a legacy for future generations with the abundance of natural beauty the park contains.
With walkways and cycle ways, pond dipping and play areas, quite space or the noise of laughter on the play area, this park will welcome
the help from the young students, with a hope that they may consider becoming longer term volunteers. Though still in the early stages of growth, this woodland park already hosts a variety of habitats encouraging an abundance of wildlife. Amongst the woods there are ponds, a lake, a meadow and hills with a beck flowing around the boundary providing an ideal setting for waterfowl, dragonflies, hares and foxes.
